What is The Ford Ranger Wildtrak
The Ford Ranger Wildtrak was launched as the Ranger’s special edition in specific markets worldwide. The Ranger itself, also commonly referred to as the T6, is a series of mid-size trucks built and distributed by Ford Motor since 2011. Ford of Australia did the engineering and design of this model.
Carrying a 4-wheel drive crew-cab platform, the Ranger Wildtrak comes with 3.2L Duratorq diesel-powered motor, with an option of auto or manual transmission. To provide a unique visual distinction from the other trims, it receives an exclusively designed dark grey-colored grille, 18″ wheels, and many interior and exterior features. The Wildtrak is available in color options, but it was primarily marketed in Pride Orange color, which is exclusive to this trim.
Coming with a single VGT (variable-geometry turbochargers), the Wildtrak can at least produce 170 Hp and 310 ft-lb of torque. A more capable version of this trim receives fixed-geometry low-pressure and high-pressure VGT, which results in 213 HP productions and 369 ft-lb of torque.
The US-based automobile manufacturer is currently performing revamp on its pickup truck series. The overhaul begins with the Maverick, then rises to each segment, up to the F-Series Super Duty lineup. After that, the Ford Ranger is next in the line to create better competition with the rivals on its segments from Toyota, Jeep, and Chevy. The new model’s preview has been revealed, and it’s only a matter of time before the 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak arrives.
Retained Powertrain as Before
Even though there’s a possibility that Ford is going to make a surprise, it is predicted that the 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak will be equipped with a similar engine as it currently does – the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged motor. An official statement says the manufacturer will bring a turbo-diesel V6 machine, but there’s a slight possibility it will be offered to the North American market. The engine is known to provide plenty of power in track records, and it’s excellent if the manufacturer decides to maintain the current one.
There are a couple of available transmission options, such as the 10-speed auto transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. Chance is that the new Wildtrak will get the auto transmission as the standard for the United States market. The upcoming model is also expected to bring a similar towing capability of 7,500 lbs., which is already fall into the higher range of its specific class.
Updated Interior Parts
The interior cabin of the Ranger series, including the Wildtrak, comes with a more modern appearance as it adopts a digital gauge display, beehive air vents pattern, and texturized dashboard. Most of the buttons and controls in this truck are digitalized already and included within the infotainment system. A set of storage solutions is integrated into the new Ranger’s interior, such as the one beneath the rear seat, more spacious door storage, and a concealed glove compartment.
The 10″ infotainment display is standard in the 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak and other Ranger trims. Those interested may upgrade to a 12″ vertically oriented infotainment screen. The Sync 4 UI from Ford is also included with various accessibility features to control the vehicle, such as zone-lighting activation. Intelligent device connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available, along with SiriusXM satellite radio and a B&O Play sound system.
