2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport Release Date: When Will the 2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport Be Released? – At the Chicago Auto Show, Volkswagen presented the redesigned 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models to the public for the first time. Both versions have received a new front-end design, an updated interior with additional features and upgraded materials, and a livelier 2.0 TSI engine with greater power and torque ratings. However, the V6 option is no longer available for either model.
The seven-seater Atlas was first shown to the public in 2017 and received an update in 2020. On the other hand, the five-seater Cross Sport version of the Atlas was released to the market in the United States in the same year. This is the first time that it has had a makeover. 2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport Release Date
The front end of the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport are where the majority of the design updates can be found. They both have a pair of bigger headlights joined by an LED bar that is located above the lit VW symbol. This feature is standard on all models with the exception of the basic trim levels, and the outside curvature of the clusters gives off some Ford Expedition vibes. These redesigned lighting components, in addition to the expanded grille and linked bumper intakes, are what differentiate the US-specific SUVs from their related Chinese counterparts, the VW Terramont and VW Terramont X.
The appearance is identical to that of their forebears, with the only exception of newly designed wheels with diameters ranging from 18 to 21 inches. These dimensions are determined by the trim level. At the rear, the taillights are now attached to each other above the chrome bar, which creates an appearance that is more intuitive and pleasing to the eye. Again, with the exception of the basic trim, all of the other trim levels get the LED bar and lighted logo. Both of these SUVs received bigger rear spoilers, but the Atlas Cross Sport has a more noticeable diffuser in the back as an additional method of differentiating itself from the other model. Only the top-of-the-line R-Line models were shown by VW. These models featured alloy wheels 21 inches in diameter, R emblems, and sporty finishing touches such as false quad chrome tailpipes.
Redesign
Putting aside the changes made to the appearance, Volkswagen focused the majority of its efforts for the 2024 model year on improving the inside by incorporating more quality materials and providing more standard equipment. The air vents have been moved to a new location below the new free-standing infotainment touchscreen that is combined with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, and illuminated Atlas / Atlas Cross Sport lettering on the passenger side in line with the 30-color ambient lighting. The dashboard has also been redesigned.
A number of cutting-edge innovations, like as a digital cockpit, a tri-zone Climatronic climate control system, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, six USB-C connections, and voice control, are included as standard equipment on all 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport trim levels. The interiors of the higher-end vehicles are also upholstered in fine quilted leather with a diamond pattern. In terms of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the IQ.DRIVE package that comes standard with the vehicle enables semi-autonomous driving. For an even better experience behind the wheel, you can upgrade to the optional Adaptive Cruise Control and head-up display.
Engine
Volkswagen has eliminated the option for a powerplant with six cylinders, therefore the 2024 Atlas family will only be offered with a single-engine configuration using four cylinders. The brand-new turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI generates 269 horsepower (198 kW / 273 PS) and 273 pound-feet of torque (370 Nm). The power rating is a gain of 34 horsepower (25 kW / 34 PS) compared to the previous 2.0 TSI four-pot, which means that it is just seven horsepower (five kW / seven PS) weaker than the 3.6 VR6. On the other hand, the torque is more than both of the engines that came before it and it is distributed over a larger range of revolutions. As a result, Volkswagen anticipates increases in both performance and fuel efficiency.
The new 2.0 TSI may only be purchased with an eight-speed automatic transmission as its companion. The power may be delivered to the front wheels, or it can be transmitted to all four wheels using the 4Motion All-Wheel Drive system, which is an optional extra across the board. Last but not least, the previous rating of 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) for towing capability has been maintained.
Release Date
It is anticipated that the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport will make their debut in US dealership showrooms at the beginning of the third quarter of 2023. Pricing information will be provided closer to the launch date.
