2023 Genesis GV70 EV Release with Expected Specs and Features Details

The Electrified GV70 will be the third EV churned by Genesis overall. Discover details and predictions about the 2023 Genesis GV70 below.

The Genesis GV70 is a freshly released model that only arrived as an all-new SUV for the 2022 model year. For the upcoming release, the ICE-powered model is predicted to come as a carryover model. However, it will excitingly bring an EV variant dubbed the Electrified GV70, an entirely new nameplate under the brand’s lineup. The 2023 Genesis GV70 EV version is slated to debut in late 2022 to join the sedan Electrified G80 and SUV GV60. Find out more details about the battery-powered model below.

The Genesis GV70 EVPowertrain Setup and Battery Pack Predictions

The 2023 Genesis GV70 EV variant will come standard in all-wheel drive and dual-motors setup. According to the company it delivers output up to 483 HP and is capable of going 0-60 mph in merely 4.5 seconds—making it a faster vehicle than its gasoline-powered counterpart.

The details about the Electrified GV70’s driving range and battery pack are yet to be released by Genesis, but it is expected to at least offer 300 miles on a full charge. It has a charging capability of 350 kW which is fast enough to make it goes from 10% to 80% through a 20-minute charging session at a public station.

Meanwhile, the regular GV70 is expected to arrive with the same internal-combustion engine set: the base engine 300 HP 2.5L 4-cylinder and the more powerful 375 HP 3.5L V6 powertrain that’s reserved for the Sport variant.

Based on the EPA estimation, the entry-level engine (unsurprisingly) is the more efficient of the two, with acquired ratings of 22/28 mpg city/highway. On the other hand, the V6 engine attains 19/25 mpg city/highway ratings.

Possible Interior Design and Features of the Electrified GV70

The upcoming Electrified GV70 shares the same interior as the standard 2023 Genesis GV70, meaning that it also offers an excellent design and commendable ambiance. The room measurement inside is quite generous for a compact-sized SUV. Both the ICE- and battery-powered cargo spaces are expected to be identical, even though the trunk details of the EV variant are yet to be dropped.

Compared to its larger kin, the Geneses GV80, the GV70 sports a more bold-looking cabin design, which carries the expansive lines from the outer experience that promotes cohesiveness. The interior uses a premium material line and glass knurled knob that is nice to look at and touch. While the sedan counterpart of the GV70, the Genesis G70, received plenty of complaints for offering a tight rear seating area, the SUV model provides more generous space especially in the legroom department—while it is not outstandingly spacious either. Moving to the cargo area, the presented capacity is more voluminous.

Moving to the tech features, there is a huge widescreen infotainment screen mounted on the dashboard powered by the most recent software UI from the brand. The infotainment system is almost certainly identical to the one found in the regular GV70, which is adapted from the Genesis SUV GV80. Aside from touchscreen control, it will likely allow physical click-wheel commands as well.

Some features that probably served as standards are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless hotspot, and a stereo system—following the ICE-powered GV70 version.

Price Estimation of the 2023 Genesis GV70

The pricing details of the Electrified GV70 haven’t been announced yet by the company, however, it is expected to cost more compared to the gasoline-powered twin. Speaking of the ICE-supported GV70, it is predicted to be offered at a close starting price to the current model year at $41,000 before the destination fee.

Expect more information regarding the 2023 Genesis GV70, especially for the electrified version, to be dropped closer to its release.
