The A8 has been the flagship sedan of the Audi with sharp design elements and modern technology involved. Read about the 2023 Audi A8 specs, features, and redesigns below.
The A8 sits at the maximum range as the largest sibling between the Audi A3, A4, and A6. Even though the market isn’t as enthusiastic about this type of vehicle as it used to be, the A8 still comes as one of the best representations of a full-size luxury sedan along with other competitors in its class such as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Lexus LS, and Genesis G90. See what the 2023 Audi A8, which is soon to go on sale, has to offer below, from the engine used, safety features, driver assistance package, exterior, and interior design, arrival date, and pricing details.
The 2023 Audi A8 Powertrain, Optional Packages, and Driver-Assistance Features
The A8 is a large upscale sedan produced since 1994 by German luxury automobile manufacturer, Audi. As per current, the 5-passenger car is in its 4th generation—which was released in 2017. It is available in the AWD system as standard but also FWD as an option, as well as SWB and LWB versions. The first and second generations of A8 use the Volkswagen Group D platform, while the third and fourth ones employ the MLB platform.
The luxury vehicle features a 355 HP turbocharged V6 engine supported by a 48V power-assist hybrid system. The powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic engine. Based on the estimation by the EPA, the sedan earns 19/28 mpg city/highway fuel economy ratings.
The flagship upscale sedan model from Audi offers two available packages to elevate the driver and passengers’ riding experience. There is the Luxury package that offers various additional features including power seat adjustments and massage, heated back-row seats, a leather-covered dashboard, and many more extras. Another optional package available is the Executive, which adds front-row massaging seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and an automotive head-up display.
The 2023 Audi A8 release brings some safety feature upgrades for these packages. Now, the Executive package gains adaptive cruise control, intersection assist, traffic sign recognition, and lane centering. The Executive package also receives remote park assist plus features starting from this model year.
Audi presents a whole driver assistance feature on the A8, but it’s pretty much the same technologies that buyers will also get with other premium-class sedans.
Carryover Exterior and Interior Designs
Appearance-wise, the 2023 Audi A8 is pretty much similar to the 2022 model year—but this is not to say that it’s lacking or something. The A8 has a smooth-flowing, muscular frame design that blends flawlessly with its wide Singleframe grille. The dashing proportions enhance the arches of its front and rear wheels, suggesting the powerful capability of the luxury sedan.
The sleek-looking digital matrix LED headlight design leaves an extremely modern impression as well, along with the OLED rear lamps that offer optimized radiance and clarity. Unfortunately, matrix LED headlight design can be acquired only by purchasing the optional Comfort plus package.
Moving on to the interior section, the design is not less splendid either. Choosing the LWB variant will guarantee well-accommodated passengers in the back-row seats. Although the 5-passenger configuration is the standard, opting for a 4-passenger seating arrangement package provides elimination of the center seat and offers double power-adjustable back-row seats with massage, ventilation, heating, and foot-massage features, along with a couple of entertainment tablets. Then again, even without all these extra features, the standard interior of the A8 comes fine due to the usage of high-quality material.
In the interior tech department, the 2023 Audi A8 is practically unchanged. Each A8 is equipped with a 12.3” digital instrument cluster (which is trademark referred to as Virtual Cockpit by the manufacturer). A pair of 10.1” and 8.6” center screens featuring an MMI system is available as well. Other standard features available are including a charging pad, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. The wireless hotspot feature is provided by purchasing an extra subscription to Audi Connect Plus.
Predicted Release Date of the A8 and Official Pricing Range
Audi hasn’t revealed yet when exactly the upcoming model year of the A8 will be launched, but there’s a high possibility it will be available to buy by the fall of 2022. The pricing range of the 2023 Audi A8 starts at $86,500, while opting for the A8’s high-performance counterpart, the S8, will cost around $117,500 as starting price.
