About the Subaru Legacy
The Legacy is the nameplate of Japanese automaker Subaru produced mid-size vehicle. Being a flagship model of the manufacturer, it’s offered with various distinctive specifications and features, such as the standard all-wheel drive system and a boxer engine.
This vehicle model was revealed for the first time during the Chicago Auto Show in 1987 then launched as 1989 model year. Back then, it was offered in two body types: hatchback and sedan. For the length of its production span, there are more than 3.6 million units of the Subaru Legacy sold.
As per current, the Legacy is in the middle of the 7th generation which was debuted in early 2019 during the Chicago Auto Show of that year. It was distributed in the North American region in the 3rd quarter of 2019. This generation marks the first time the Legacy won’t be marketed in Australia and its home country, Japan, due to rather poor sales from the previous generations. The Legacy then moved into the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) for the 2020 model year that brings similar exterior design but restyled lights and better torsional rigidity.
Soon, the 2023 Subaru Legacy will arrive by carrying mid-cycle refresh. According to the known details up until now, this refresher is going to bring a refined exterior styling, a set of advanced technology features, and a bestowed turbocharged powertrain for one of the trims.
