The next-gen of the Chevy Camaro is unlikely to arrive due to the discontinuation rumor in 2024. That being said, the new 2023 Chevy Camaro is still going to be released with the following features.
The Chevrolet Camaro has been mentioned multiple times by a lot of analysts and experts in the industry when it comes to a vehicle that offers driving enjoyment. Despite having tight rear seats and confined outward visibility, it still provides an incredibly smooth ride and great value in general, especially considering the price range it sits in. Even though the buzz about its discontinuation in 2024 has been buzzing for a while, you can still expect the new 2023 Chevy Camaro to arrive soon.

An Overview of Camaro
The Chevrolet Camaro is a muscle car produced by Chevrolet in the segment of mid-size vehicles. It was debuted in 1966 as a 1967 model year to rival the Ford Mustang, bringing similar major components and platforms to Pontiac-manufactured Firebird that was also launched for the first time in 1967.
The life of the Camaro spanned for four generations before it was axed in 2002. However, the nameplate made a return in 2009 and was released as the 5th generation.
The launch of the new 2023 Chevy Camaro will be the 8th model year of its 6th generation which was introduced in 2015 at Belle Isle Park in Detroit—an event that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Camaro. In 2015, it was only offered in two trim levels: LT and SS variants that carry the GM Alpha platform manufactured in Lansing Grand River (LGR) Assembly in Michigan. The current and the upcoming Camaro have and will have a total of eight trim grades.
The Range of Chevy Camaro Powertrains
Following the minor upgrades brought by the previous model year, it is very likely that the new 2023 Chevy Camaro is going to be a carryover vehicle with the same body and coupe styles, powertrains, and transmissions.
The range of Camaro trim levels presents several different engine types, but they come on an RWD system only. The entry-level 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT variants bring 275 HP 295 lb-ft 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder; the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT trims have 335 HP 284 lb-ft 3.6L V6 engine; the LT1, 1SS, 2SS are equipped with 455 HP 455 lb-ft 6.2L V8 engine; while the fully-loaded trim ZL1 is powered by 650 HP 650 lb-ft 6.2L supercharged V-8 motor.
The base powertrain comes with 8-speed auto transmissions, while the V6 and V8 engines are paired with 10-speed auto transmissions. Even the most entry-level models with the base engine provide surprisingly quick rides. Upgraded powertrains will bring you a more high-spirited vehicle with a blazing soundtrack.
The Camaro also offers excellent chassis that’s unbeatable amongst the models in the current muscle car segment. It has a robust structure that ensures accurate handling and a comfortable feel, resulting in a balanced and firm ride even on the less desirable track.
Interior Designs and Infotainment System Predictions
Moving to the design, the interior of the Camaro has improved compared to the prior generation with a more modern appearance and higher quality material. The front seat has an ergonomic layout which provides a pleasing experience. It features customizable ambient lighting as well which contributes to the cool design.
That being said, the Chevrolet Camaro is infamous for its extremely cramped rear legroom and cargo space, not to mention insufficient outward visibility. The rear section space count is devastating compared to its rival Dodge Challenger, but it does bring a helpful head-up display that comes optional which isn’t offered in the latter vehicle model. The same stinginess of the room is also applicable to the interior storage and trunk area.
On the infotainment system department, the new 2023 Chevy Camaro most probably will bring back the 7” touchscreen display and the earlier mentioned 8” head-up display. The wireless phone charger feature comes standard on 3LT variants and higher. On-board Wi-Fi hotspot and smart device compatibility via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also supported.
The Doomed Future of the Chevy Camaro
The automobile industry is currently preparing on a massive scale to make the transition to electrified vehicles, so the muscle era seems to be closing its page soon—at least for the gasoline-powered ones. Most models are already announced to be discontinued some being replaced with electric or hybrid successors.
The same unfortunate fate is also approaching the Chevrolet Camaro as well. The new 2023 Chevy Camaro is rumored to be the second-to-last model year before it is going to be killed in 2024. That being said, according to a trustworthy insider, it will be replaced by a sedan EV that can bring the same nameplate.
