2024 Toyota Highlander Colors: Exterior & Interior Colors – Customers were instantly won over by the Toyota Highlander’s unibody chassis, which enabled it to provide a smooth ride and swiftly win over purchasers when it was first debuted for the 2001 model year. Although it has significantly increased in size, Toyota’s Highlander continues to be a popular choice among customers more than twenty years after it was first introduced. The most recent version of this three-row crossover was released in 2020, and it will continue through 2024 with a number of revisions that are designed to keep it feeling modern.
Review
Those looking for a vehicle that can accommodate a large number of passengers and still provide a higher ride height than a minivan do well to consider the Toyota Highlander. Its driving characteristics aren’t very thrilling, and we found that the XLE model doesn’t seem all that nimble, but in day-to-day driving, most people should have no trouble negotiating tight spaces with it.
We have lauded the Highlander for its enormous amount of luggage room, its huge infotainment displays, and its excellent fuel efficiency in its hybrid form. Toyota has made steps to resolve one of our most significant complaints with the gasoline model. We discovered that the V-6 had almost no low-end power, and we were disappointed by this. In 2023, a new turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine will be added to the lineup. This engine will have somewhat less horsepower but a significant increase in torque, which should make up for the deficiencies of the previous powerplant.
Legroom in the third row of the Highlander is limited, despite the fact that it can accommodate as many as eight passengers. Some of the vehicle’s competitors, such as the Kia Telluride, do a better job of providing adequate space in the back seats for adults. Those individuals, however, who place a higher priority on the feature content, safety ratings, and Toyota’s tried-and-true quality may be able to look past this shortcoming. The Highlander is not a perfect substitute for a minivan, but the most recent set of changes has added a lot of appeal to the vehicle.
Interior
The pair of storage shelves that run down the length of the dashboard in the 2024 Toyota Highlander is one of the most unique elements found inside the vehicle. The first location is below the infotainment screen, behind the vents; on higher trim levels, there is a charging port for wirelessly charging mobile devices located here. The second storage option is a spacious shelf located on the passenger side of the vehicle, just above the glove box. This shelf is ideal for stowing away mobile phones and other such items.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety bestowed its Top Safety Pick+ honor for the 2022 Highlander. This automobile received the highest possible rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which was five stars overall, with four stars for the frontal crash test and rollover test, and five stars for the side crash test.
The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+) package of driver aid and active safety technologies is standard on the 2024 Toyota Highlander. This suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, front automated emergency braking, emergency steering help, road sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Other features in this suite include road sign recognition and automatic high beams. Hill start-to-assist control, trailer sway control, and downhill help control are also standard on Toyota vehicles.
Some rivals provide more cabin space. Legroom in the first and third rows of the Highlander is not as generous as it is in the Kia Telluride or the Ford Explorer. A smaller amount of cargo space is available behind the third-row seats of the Toyota, as well as when both of the rear rows are folded down. However, in comparison to these other vehicles, it has an advantage when only the third-row seats are folded down.
The infotainment system of the Toyota Highlander was upgraded for the 2024 model year. The Limited and Platinum versions now come standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display. These displays come with four different look modes that Toyota refers to as Casual, Smart, Tough, and Sporty.
Additionally, the 8.0-inch display and 7.0-inch instrument cluster screen that come standard on the XLE and XSE trim levels can be upgraded to the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that is optionally available on those trim levels. Both the Highlander L and the Highlander LE are equipped with a standard infotainment touchscreen measuring 8.0 inches and an instrument cluster screen measuring 7.0 inches. Every trim level comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and the option to create a Wi-Fi hotspot. Additionally, a built-in navigation system is available from Toyota.
Power-folding mirrors are now standard on the Limited and Platinum trim levels beginning with the 2023 model year. Hands-free power liftgate operation is standard on the XLE, XSE, Limited, and Platinum trim levels.
Engine
The Highlander from Toyota is only available with one engine choice: a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder that produces 265 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. This is an improvement over the previous V-6 unit, which produced 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) are available for this model. In every single gasoline Highlander model, the only transmission that can be had is an automatic with eight different gears. According to Toyota, the Highlander will get an estimated combined city/highway fuel economy of 24 mpg, which is the same figure that the FWD Highlander achieved in 2022.
Consider the Highlander Hybrid if you are interested in better mileage per gallon; Toyota predicts that it will achieve a combined rating of 36 mpg. This model is also available with the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and it has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in addition to two electric motors, which results in a total system output of 243 horsepower. 2024 Toyota Highlander Colors
