2024 Chevy Tahoe Uses the Upgraded V8 6.2L Engine

2024 Chevy Tahoe is the fifth generation of Chevrolet full-size SUV. Apparently, Tahoe 2024 will only experience a slight upgrade from the previous generation.

2024 Chevy Tahoe is expected to use the famous V8 engine with a capacity of 6.2 liters and output power of 420 HP or around 309 kW. The engine is available for RST, Premier, and Z71 trim levels. Magnetic Ride Control is also embedded in the 2024 Tahoe as a partner of the 6.2-liter V8 engine. The system is standard for High Country and Premier trim levels, but it is still an option for Z71 and RST.

What to Expect?

You need to know the 5.3-liter V8 engine will still be standing on the LT, LS, Z71, RST, and Premier trim levels. Meanwhile, the Duramax 3.0 L turbo-diesel engine is an option on all trim levels except the Z71. All trim levels are equipped with push-button electronic shifts to operate the standard 10-speed automatic transmission.

Another thing to anticipate for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe is its more capable traction due to the provision of limited-slip electronic differentials. This electronically limited-slip differential (eLSD) is intended to replace American Axle’s mechanical limited-slip differential, the Eaton G80 locker, which has been used in General Motors Company (GMC) trucks for decades. It can be said the use of eLSD in 2024 Tahoe is a bit late because GMC’s Yukon has got one in 2021. As the saying goes, better late than never.

Your ride comfort is also increased with the installation of 3 cameras to monitor your surroundings, including your payload. The camera can monitor the back, sides, and inside. If you prefer towing, the installation of 3 cameras as a technology standard is really helpful.

You can even see the state in your trailer and watch it if you add the camera to your purchase option. All Tahoe trim levels, except for the LS and LT, will now have a 12.3-inch infotainment screen as standard with information layouts and 4 gauges to choose from.

Likewise, with Google features, at trim levels besides LS and 15:35:44, you will be able to take advantage of Google Maps, Google Play, and Google Assistant. All of these features are confirmed to be compatible with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto SUV features.

The advantage of Google’s functionality in 2024 Chevy Tahoe is that you don’t need a smartphone. The functions like telephone, SMS, radio, audio volume, HVAC control, and Google Maps navigation can all be used. However, of course, you are required to buy the service pack provided to use this feature.

The Safety Offered

Not all safety features are provided in all trim levels, only a few are standard. For example, standard safety features for all trim levels are lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning and front and rear park assist. These two features will be very useful for you as to when you park the car, you don’t experience a collision with another vehicle or nearby object.

It feels lacking if you don’t include advanced seat belt safety features when driving the 2024 Chevy Tahoe. Interlock seat belts provide security guarantees to the driver with a feature to prevent vehicles from moving if there are passengers in the front seat who have not locked their seat belts. This is a feature that has always been coveted by drivers and traffic safety activists.

Official Price is Still Not Released

Chevrolet does not provide an official statement yet regarding the price details that will be pinned on all trim levels for the 2024 Tahoe. Possible prices will be shared with the public as the release day approaches, including the announcement of 3 new exterior colors, which are auburn metallic, evergreen gray metallic, and dark ash metallic. These three new colors are expected to increase the selling price of Tahoe 2024.

For comparison, we can look back at the prices from 2021 Tahoe. The LS variant starts at $51,295, while the top-tier trim, the LT, starts at $55,995. The sporty RST trim costs $59,095, and the Z71 costs $61,195. The remaining two trim levels, Premium and High Country, which come with a more luxurious interior than other trim levels are priced at $64,495 and $71,935 respectively. Due to the plans to use the more powerful engine, it is likely the price of every trim level of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will increase, but not significantly.
