2023 Subaru BRZ, All We Know Up to Now

The all-new 2023 Subaru BRZ is an old-school possibility. Subaru never fails with this all-new second-generation variant that’s sharper, faster, and more agile than its predecessor.

The new 2023 Subaru BRZ will be the next-generation model of the prominent sports car. It is expected to retain the coupe body style of the current model, but with redesigned front and rear parts. Therefore, when it became clear that the Toyota GR86 and BRZ would be revived in the second generation, it was surprising especially as the present COVID pandemic gives a stop to many latest car developments. On top of that, it does not let the automaker get a high profit.

2023 BRZ Preview

The biggest question for the next-gen BRZ is the use of a turbocharger. Rumor has it that it will go with a 2.4-liter counter-horizontal 4-cylinder Subaru which will have a turbocharger and produce around 260 HP, or it will naturally gush to produce around 217 HP.

Anyway, we got a feel for how the more powerful BRZ sounds, and hopefully, it will become the usual standard in manual gearboxes. The base model is the choice because the 2023 Subaru BRZ is a vehicle, not an amount. Performance packages with chassis or brake upgrades are possible, and fans want them. Special editions like the current BRZ may come later in the car’s lifecycle.

2023 BRZ Rumored Engine

Based on rumors, the turbocharged 2.4-liter horizontal-opposed 4-cylinder engine in other Subaru cars will also be used for the new BRZ. It can produce more than 250 HP in this application. This is a significant improvement over the currently sold BRZ, which targets a horizontally-opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and produces only 205 HP.

We might not be excited about the possibility that the naturally ideal 2.4-liter engine would make around 217 HP, but it could happen. Manual transmission 6-speed is standard equipment and an automatic transmission will be optional, but we prefer to drive alone. RWD is completely mandatory. The new BRZ has the similar sensible steering, lightweight built, and balanced chassis as today’s cars, making it a pleasure to drive on winding roads and excellent circuits.

At first look, it can be said 2023 Subaru BRZ is simply a major modification of the current car. You may be right that the capacity is similar, but all body panels are new. The front features elegant simplicity with an angled grille, vertical side vents, and sophisticated front fenders. We will also find more reminiscent of Lexus RC featuring rear corner glass and carved rocker panels that blend into the facade fender air intakes.

The back haunches are less visible than any other cars that went out. Here, sheet metal is held onto the back wheel and uses an oddly shaped gas cap. It also maintains a similar design as the current generation car, with most of the changes applied to the headlights, wheels, grilles, taillights, and rear spoiler. Looking here and tweaking the renderings, the new front and other parts of the car are welcomed as car upgrades that haven’t changed much for almost a decade.

2023 BRZ Interior Design

The 2023 Subaru BRZ cabin focuses on superior driving position and seat support, rather than the luxury and charm that must be passed on to new generations. The interior may look a little better, but the latest, more stylish dashboard layout welcomes a change from the monotonous look of the current model.

We may wish we had four seats left, but the rear seats should not be any larger than the narrow compromises found in today’s cars. It is better for them to fold to increase the availability of luggage space. As useful as BRZ or 86, the interior design is certainly not their forte. Unfortunately, it has not reached the exhaustion level of the Nissan 370Z. However, we can anticipate a similar space amount, coupled with high-quality materials, infotainment amplifiers, connectivity, and Subaru’s newest driver aid system, EyeSight.

2023 BRZ MSRP

Early 2022 will look more logical at this point, but we can only see the manufactured model debut at the end of the year. Anyway, the BRZ and 86 will be probably sold as the 2023 model, and the strong STi variant will come later. We can find out more about next year’s 2023 Subaru BRZ, including the exact engine used. It should appear in the United States next year, possibly in the second half of the year, with an MSRP of around $30,000.
