2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost and Its Visible Prototype

The Ford Mustang is a living legend of American automotive, and since its introduction in 1965, this Pony Car has now existed for six generations. It seems Blue Oval will still keep the legend, and reportedly the seventh generation is waiting.

Ford has already given some hints about the Next-gen Mustang. Blue Oval mentions the next generation is a giant leap in muscle cars. However, Ford is still silent about the more specific things about this legendary Pony car. Rumors about the emergence of Generation VII 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost are getting louder and louder. The prototype’s appearance, which is thought to be the successor to the American Pony Car, doesn’t reveal much about its identity.

The Leaked Prototype 2023 Mustang EcoBoost

A prototype that was again suspected to be a Gen VII 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost reemerged with a camouflage cloak that was so thick. Indeed, it has not been able to feel its embodiment, but more or less, this car can be concluded to still adhere to the old concept while maintaining the long bonnet design.

The details cannot be monitored, but some of the strokes of the body design, especially on the face, are a little predictable. The fascia is not expected to be too different from the previous model. Several rumors had spread about this face, especially the use of a ‘modern’ muzzle with a large grille like the one used in the BMW 4 Series, more or less confirmed not to infect this new model. Generation VII Mustang is said to have an option as a hybrid car, and it will also have an AWD drive option.

However, a Ford engineer gave a small leak about the injection of hybrid technology in the Mustang through the LinkedIn profile. Unmitigated, Ford will attach this electrification technology to the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and the 5.0-liter V8 version.

The Machine to Be Embedded

The next-gen Mustang will experience development to suit the times. One of them provides electrification technology intake. The potential to become a hybrid car is enormous. Even ‘insiders’ confirmed this news. However, the specifications of the hybrid model are not yet known. It is just that it looks like the Detroit giant, which will retain the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, the Coyote’s 5.0-liter V8, and the Predator’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8.

The key to this new engine is Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission. This gearbox was modeled from the base to allow sufficient modularity for electrification, and it is used in nearly every rear-wheel-based platform Ford has to offer.

In addition, the 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost will be equipped with a 4-wheel drive as an option. March 2023 is said to be the time for the new model’s debut. The long-term plan is that Ford will make the Mustang a fully electric vehicle by 2028. The Mustang badge is nothing new for an EV. The Mustang Mach-E SUV has existed since 2020, and it uses the Mustang nomenclature. However, this model is not manufactured in the territory of the legend of American Muscle.

Some Features are Still Dubious

Of course, it is difficult to describe what the 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost will look like, but what is certain is that the presence of this hybrid technology will give a new color, especially to the muscle car world. It is synonymous with engine groans and indifference to fuel consumption. Given the stricter laws, adding hybrid components to increase efficiency would make the powertrain more durable.

The electrification step on Mustang is not too surprising. The news had previously been rolling since 2018. Ford had conveyed this plan, only at that time, it had not been explained what the engine would be like in the electrification system. At the time, Ford said Mustang Hybrid would provide the same performance as the Mustang V8, with lower torque and better fuel consumption. However, with the revelation that 5.0-liter V8 will be paired with a hybrid system, that will be interesting because what is targeted is driving performance and satisfaction.

The Henry Ford manufacturer has even patented a twin motor drive system for hybrid electric vehicles featuring a V8 engine and 2 (two) electric motors. According to the patent, this engine with internal combustion will drive the rear wheels, while the electric motor will drive the front wheels. We need to wait for the due date.

Ford has not revealed the hybrid 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost that uses the latest transmission. However, they have applied the hybrid powertrain to several prototype car models. However, it is not yet known when Ford will present an environmentally friendly car.
