The current model year of Tacoma is offered at a starting price of $27,000. See how the 2023 Toyota Tacoma price will likely sit for the next model year.
Through a recently released press, Toyota is excited to remind the world once again that the 2023 model year of Tacoma will arrive soon, which is not entirely surprising considering it has been sitting at the top spot of best-selling vehicle in its class. Here’s what you can expect from the 2023 Toyota Tacoma price, release date, and various upgraded features.
The Upcoming Tacoma Redesigned Features
Toyota Tacoma may not grab the spot of the best mid-size pickup trucks on various lists, but it does remain to hold the best popularity among the currently marketed trucks by outselling each and every competitor. Regardless of the number of not-so-positive assessments from critics, it doesn’t look like it’s going to let go of the reign soon. However, if there’s anything that car owners and critics can agree about, it is that Tacoma does have outstanding off-roading capabilities.
Now, before getting into the 2023 Toyota Tacoma price and upgrades, let’s have a look at the nameplate as a whole first. The first generation of Tacoma spans from 1995 all the way to the 2004 model years. It was introduced initially as the manufacturer’s replacement for the Toyota Hilux, which production started in 1968.
The design of the Toyota Tacoma comes from the Japanese automobile company’s desire to level up the ride quality, towing capacities, driving handle, safety, and comfort of its lineup. Toyota had a desire to fulfill and exceed vehicle consumers’ needs, especially those in the North American region, for a personal pickup truck vehicle.
Currently, Tacoma is on its third generation, which was revealed first as the 2016 model year. No major changes are expected from the 2023 Toyota Tacoma redesign as it’s revealed to be a carryover car. That being said, there are several minor upgrades to anticipate such as new exterior paint options for the TRD Pro trim, as well as keyless entry and V6 powertrain availability for the SR5 trim.
The Tacoma is going to be offered in two engine options again: the base 159 horsepower 4-cylinder engine that generates 180 pound-feet of torque and an optional 279 horsepower V6 engine that puts out up to 265 pound-feet of torque. There are also two types of transmission available: the 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed automatic transmission.
The TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road trims are tailored for those who seek to venture on rougher tracks, while the Limited and TRD Sport are more suitable for city driving. However, none of them run specifically quickly. Handling and ride quality are not the best strengths of the Tacoma, but it does have ease in tackling rough paths or trails. Moreover, it should be noted that the Limited is capable of delivering a quieter, smoother, and more satisfying ride compared to the off-road variants.
The 2023 Tacoma New Upgrades
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma price is expected to increase slightly and there’s a reason for it. For the upcoming model year, the manufacturer adds two new visual packages for the SR5 trim. The previously SR-exclusive SX package is going to be available for the V6 motor-powered SR5. Added features are including a black badge, black wheels, black oven fenders, and other details.
Meanwhile, the Chrome package is also offered on the Double Cab-variant of the SR5 time, which adds chrome-accented door handles, tailgate logo, exhaust tips, 18” polished wheels, and leather-covered shift knobs. The Tacoma SR5 trim with a V6 engine now also receives keyless-entry and electric-adjustable driver seats.
The electric-adjustable driver’s seat is now also available on Limited trim. Other additional features reserved for the Double Cab version of the Limited trim are including an 8” infotainment touchscreen, keyless entry, and a 360º camera. The TRD Pro model, on the other hand, receives a new trim-exclusive Solar Octane exterior color while the TRD Sport is available in an Electric Lime color option for 2023.
