2024 Jeep Gladiator: Will There Be a 2024 Jeep Gladiator? – A refreshed Jeep Gladiator is not surprising, given that a new Jeep Wrangler will be arriving soon. Jeep didn’t even try to conceal the Gladiator facelift when we saw it out in public. The silver Gladiator was spotted in a car park, allowing our spy photographer to take some great photos.
You may remember that the Wrangler 2024 was unveiled at the New York Auto Show earlier in the year with the smaller version of its iconic seven-bar front grille. The entire grille, as well as its surround, is black. The front bumper has also been modified, with the body lines in its middle. The turn signal lenses have been changed, as well as the taillights.
Redesign
The interior is completely covered, but the exterior remains uncovered. When our photographer swooped in to get some closeups, he was met with covers covering the dash as well as the driver’s seats. It confirms we are looking at an actual preproduction version and not a mule. While we cannot see the center touchscreen, it’s likely there. The Wrangler 2024 debuted with a 12.3-inch screen in landscape orientation, which meant that the dashboard had to be redesigned significantly.
Small horizontal vents were installed beneath the screen to replace the round vents. The prominent grab handle on the passenger’s side was moved to the lower dash, creating a nicely symmetrical horizontal stripe. The interior covers would be heavy if the Gladiator received the same updates, and it’s unlikely that they wouldn’t.
Upgrades to the Uconnect 5 system and Trails Offroad’s digital guide are likely. The Gladiator’s powertrain should remain unchanged. However, it could receive some upgrades to its axle or suspension.
The official launch could be at the end of the summer, with the 2024 Wrangler being officially unveiled and the Gladiator caught without exterior camouflage. Check out the Rambling About Cars Podcast for more discussion on off-roading.
Engine
Rumors indicate that the 2024 Jeep Gladiator will be receiving new engine options. Plug-in hybrids could be the most thrilling upgrade. That’s right. The Jeep Gladiator is on our radar.
The Gladiator was rumored to be coming out in the 4xe model years ago. However, Stellantis explained that it would have to come after the Wrangler, which is now here.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine paired with two motors, a battery pack of 17 kWh, and produces 375 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet. The EPA estimates that it gets 49 mpg and can travel 22 miles.
The Gladiator could be more powerful to compensate for its extra weight. Current generation vehicles have a standard 4-cylinder 3.6-liter engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque.
Upgrade to a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 440 pounds-feet of torque. The EPA estimates 22 mpg for the city, and 28 mpg for the highway.
Gladiator comes with an automatic eight-speed transmission as well as a manual six-speed option. The manual transmission and engine choices may be discontinued due to low sales.
Release Date and Price
We still have a long way to go before the Gladiator Electrified is released. Jeep has not given us an estimated release date. However, it is fairly certain it will debut after the new Wrangler. The new Gladiator is likely to be released in late 2023 or even early 2024.
It’s reasonable that prices will increase from Gladiator’s MSRP, which is currently $39,680.
